"I don’t think anyone needs to be told why:" Tesla cut from EV charger and battery rebates

“No he picked the least worse option, the previous administration were actively working against him and his companies”

How so? The IRA invested billions in EV subsidies, EV fast charging, clean energy etc. Tesla was a direct financial beneficiary of many of those programmes. Hardly “actively working” against Tesla at all.

All of this also helped Tesla’s original mission of “accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable transportation and energy” as you repeat above. Elon always said Tesla could not do this by themselves, so other companies needed to join the fight, and eventually they did, partly due to this kind of Government encouragement as well as the market pressure Tesla applied to other automakers bottom line.

But Elon’s silence on the canning of all these programmes is telling. How can any of the actions so far be seen as being consistent with Tesla’s mission? Seriously - explain it. How does ripping funding out of EV fast charger programmes, or ending EV subsidies, or trying to destroy vehicle emissions standards, or even the pathetic and petty action of shutting down 5000 chargers in Federal buildings help Tesla’s mission?

If Elon no longer believe’s in Tesla’s mission, then either he should leave Tesla and leave them to get on with the mission, or Tesla should formally disown it and instead tell us what their mission now is.
